In its 50th anniversary year, last August DVP Vacuum Technology reached yet another prestigious milestone: the production of its one millionth vacuum pump.
First shown at Farete, the two-day B2B networking event promoted and organized by Confindustria Emilia Area Centro, the vacuum pump produced nr. 1,000,000 is an SC 25, an oil-free rotary vane model with an industrial monobloc design where the rotor is directly assembled on the motor shaft. The pump mounts a powerful rear centrifugal fan for effective cooling, and includes in its standard equipment a protective filter at inlet and a silencer at the oulet.
More specifically, the one millionth unit is equipped with a Multi-Voltage 50 Hz/60 Hz IE3 motor with UL (cRUus) certification in accordance with current Canadian and U.S. safety standards and a registration plate with vacuum and pressure values as it can also be used as a compressor. This dry vacuum pump is extremely compact and reliable, suitable for use in a variety of industrial fields such as in suction cup handling, automatic packing and packaging machines, woodworking machinery, and pneumatic conveying systems.
The production of the first vacuum pump by DVP Vacuum Technology dates back to 1973, when founder Mario Zucchini was able to reinvent the product in a completely new key. Today, the millionth vacuum pump is entirely manufactured in the plant in San Pietro in Casale, province of Bologna, led with the same passion by his sons and animated by more than 80 vacuum professionals. A production center that is state-of-the-art, capable of guaranteeing volume, flexibility and high quality.
Significant investments in production over the past fifty years have in fact enabled the machining area to be equipped and upgraded with advanced robotic systems. Production processes were reorganised by implementing a new assembly layout with pull-in and just-in-time logic and a production supermarket. The individual work areas have also been supplemented with new, more strategic workstations, tailored to the product to be assembled.
The result of this manufacturing strength are high-performance, reliable and durable vacuum pumps whose continuous improvement goes from the research and innovation center, DVP LAB, to high-profile design and technical consulting. Vacuum pumps with customized solutions that always arise from in-depth analysis and rigorous technical evaluation.
